About the Event

Join us for a corn husk doll workshop with Lenape elder Theresa Johnson. Every participant will make and go home with their own corn husk doll! Theresa is from Eelunaapeewi Lahkeewiit, the Moraviantown Reserve on the Thames River in Ontario. She is a descendant of prominent 18th century Lenape and Mohican leaders. In addition to being highly skilled at many traditional crafts, Theresa has been working with plant medicines all of her life.

One of our goals at Wild Hudson Valley is to facilitate and suppport Hudson Valley native descendants to visit their ancestral homelands from their far away contemporary communities. The proceeds from event registration will go entirely to Theresa for her time and travel expenses. 

Check-in by 1:00 PM at Wild Hudson Valley Camp (408 Lake Mills Road, Cairo, NY 12451). Registration for this event will help cover the trave costs associated with
