About the Event
This hands-on workshop is designed to teach participants everything they need to know to start their own backyard ginseng farm. Topics covered include everything from basic ginseng plant identification and history to forest site assessment and planting demonstrations. Participants will receive a copy of the newly revised version of The Practical Guide to Growing Ginseng by Bob Beyfuss, as well as stratified ginseng seed to do some test plantings at home. Come on out and get ready to grow your own!
Anna and Justin have worked with ginseng for eight years. Anna received her BS from Cornell University, where she majored in Natural Resources. After graduating, she trained under Bob Beyfuss, one of the most renowned experts on American ginseng’s history and cultivation. As managers of American Ginseng Pharm, Anna and Justin coordinate all ginseng growing operations on over 250 acres of forested land in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains.
