About the Event
For this walk, we will explore traditional Northeastern springtime plant medicines, with a strong emphasis on traditional tree medicines, including sassafras, slippery elm, sycamore, and many others. By the end of the walk, we will gather together to sample a number of traditional Northeastern teas made from native tree species. This workshop will emphasize those tree species and medicines that are commonly-known and used among Northeastern Native Peoples and which, in many cases, were shared with settler neighbors in the past. As we are not Native, it is not our place to share culturally-sensitive medicines and their formulas. Advance registration for this event is required, and space is limited. However, admission for this event is included in an Eco Camp reservation! Weekend camp guests get to join us for our Friday Night Fire (with s'mores), this Saturday morning Bark Medicine Workshop, and the Sunday morning Bark and Bast Fiber Workshop. Click her…
